Pesto is a sauce Originating in Genoa in the Liguria region of northern Italy (pesto alla Genovese). The name is the contracted past participle of plague ("to pound, to crush", from The Same Latin root as the word Italiano pestle), in reference to the crushed herbs and garlic sauce's.Ingredients: fresh basil (31.7%) olive oil, extra virgin olive oil (17.8%), Grana Padano cheese (7%), cashew nuts, potatoes, pine nuts (1.7%), salt, sugar, Pecorino Romano, acidity corrector.
